Russian Missile Strike Kills 3 Conscripts Near Ukraine Border

Three Russian conscripts were killed and seven others were injured on Saturday in a Ukrainian missile strike on a military barracks in the western Russian region of Kirov Oblast, according to Russian state media.

The strike, which occurred in the town of Murashi, is the deadliest attack on Russian territory since the start of the war in Ukraine. It comes as Russian forces continue to press their offensive in eastern Ukraine, where they have made significant gains in recent weeks.

The Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement that the strike was carried out by a Ukrainian Tochka-U missile, which hit a barracks housing conscripts. The ministry said that the missile was fired from Ukrainian territory and that it had been intercepted by Russian air defenses before it could reach its intended target.

However, Ukrainian officials have denied responsibility for the attack. The Ukrainian Defense Ministry said in a statement that the strike was likely carried out by Russian forces as a false flag operation to justify further aggression against Ukraine.

The attack has been condemned by the international community, including the United States, which called it a "heinous act of violence." The United Nations has also condemned the attack and called for an investigation into the incident.

The strike comes as tensions between Russia and Ukraine continue to escalate. The two countries have been engaged in a bloody conflict since 2014, when Russia annexed Crimea and backed separatists in eastern Ukraine. The war has claimed the lives of more than 13,000 people and displaced millions more.

The attack on the barracks in Kirov Oblast is a reminder of the ongoing violence in Ukraine and the continued threat posed by Russian aggression. It is also a reminder of the importance of international condemnation and support for Ukraine.
